The G Pen Connect is not a stand-alone vaporiser but the piece that turns any bong into a concentrate vaporiser. Who is the G Pen Connect for?

For customers who want to vaporise concentrates through water and do not want to use a torch or timing for it. The Connect replaces nail and burner with a heating element that is ready in five seconds. Anyone with a bong at home needs nothing beyond this attachment. In the trade it is the article that sells to everyone who already owns glass — and that is a larger part of the clientele than the demand for e-rigs suggests. In our experience these customers come back afterwards for adapters, replacement tanks and eventually for a water piece of their own.

Reverse airflow

Instead of leading the air past the concentrate, the Connect draws it back through the heated material. That sounds like a detail but changes the yield noticeably: less is left in the tank and the vapour arrives denser. Together with the ceramic heating element that produces a result which can keep up with a well-run nail without its effort. For selling it is the technical point that justifies the price difference from cheap attachments. For advice that means the Connect sells on its yield, not on its feature list.

Five seconds

Five seconds to operating temperature is the practical core of the device. Classic dabbing demands heating, cooling and hitting the right moment — here that falls away entirely. For the customer that means the device gets used instead of lying around, and for the trade it means the Connect can be demonstrated in the shop in under a minute. Count along while demonstrating — five seconds sounds short, and looks even shorter.

Connecting to existing glass

Through glass-on-glass adapters the Connect fits water pieces with 10, 14 and 18 millimetres. The 14 millimetre adapter is included; the other two are available separately and belong on the shelf, because otherwise they are missing exactly when the customer is already at home. For advice that means: ask about the joint on the customer's existing bong before they leave the shop. Anyone who does not know the bong is best off measuring the diameter before ordering the adapter.

The magnetic battery

The 850 mAh battery joins the tank magnetically — no thread to work loose and no misalignment when fitting. The capacity is enough for several sessions in a row, and pass-through charging lets the device be used on the cable. The magnetic connection is at the same time one wear point fewer, which counts on a device that is frequently taken apart. The spare battery is also an item that heavy users ask for by themselves after a year or two.

Three levels and the extended draw

Three temperature settings cover the range in which concentrates work sensibly — low for flavour, high for density. Added to that is an extended draw mode which lengthens the heating phase when a long draw is wanted. Together the two replace the degree-precise control of more expensive e-rigs without any need to work your way in. Anyone who has once used the extended draw mode no longer turns it off for longer rounds.

The carb trigger

A spring-loaded trigger releases the airflow when pressed. That lets the draw be dosed rather than merely started and ended — you build vapour and then let it through in one go. Anyone coming from a bong knows this behaviour and finds their way immediately. For customers who have only vaporized herbs so far, this point is the reason to try it at all.

Cleaning and wear

The tank is wiped out with a cotton bud while still warm after use, and then it stays clean. Wear occurs on the O-rings and on the tank itself, both available individually; three replacement O-rings are included. Let the tank cool down and you have considerably more work later — that note belongs in the sales conversation. For the trade the replacement tank is the obvious repeat purchase. A cleaning kit with cotton buds and alcohol therefore belongs in every order with a Connect.

Safety

Unlike classic dabbing, no glowing nail lies exposed here. The heating element sits enclosed in the tank and the housing stays touchable. For customers who have avoided concentrates because of the torch, that is precisely the reason to buy. In the sales conversation it pays to raise this point actively — it widens the target group by everyone who has avoided concentrates because of the open flame.

Connect or Roam?

The Connect needs existing glass and is therefore cheaper; the Roam brings its own water piece and works on its own. Anyone with a bong takes the Connect and saves; anyone wanting to be out and about or owning no glass takes the Roam. Both work with concentrates and come from the same manufacturer, so accessories can partly be shared. The Connect is priced well below a stand-alone e-rig, because the glass the customer already has is missing.

How to use it

1. Take off the tank and place a small amount of concentrate inside.
2. Set the tank magnetically onto the battery and fit the glass adapter.
3. Attach the device to the water piece and select the temperature level.
4. Let it heat for five seconds, then draw and press the carb.
5. Wipe the tank out after the session while it is still warm.
