Duo Onyx

Who is the Duo Onyx for?

For customers who want to run concentrates and herbs in the same device and are looking for a system that does not have to be taken apart after every session. The Zenco principle is the glass: it gets filled, fitted and afterwards put in the dishwasher. In the trade the Duo is the article for everyone asking for something simple for two materials.

The glass principle

Instead of a chamber inside the device, the material sits in a glass that is placed on the base. The advantage shows on cleaning: the glass goes in the dishwasher, the base stays clean. Because all Zenco glasses are interchangeable, a second glass can be prepared for another variety and used in rotation — which is exactly why two glasses come with the Duo.

Automatic filling

The vaporising coil draws the material in itself, so nothing has to be packed. Together with the instant heat-up that gives a device usable without preparation. For customers looking for something for in between, that is the practically most important point — and it can be demonstrated in the shop in thirty seconds.

Four heat levels

Control is not in degrees but in four voltage levels from 2.5 to 4.0 volts. Set low, the flavour stays in the foreground; set high, the density comes. That is coarser control than a degree readout, but sufficient in practice, because after a few sessions one level settles anyway. Anyone who wants degree-accurate control is right with a different device.

510 thread

The base takes cartridges with a 510 thread. The device is therefore not tied to the Zenco glasses but is usable as a cartridge battery too. For the trade that is an argument that lifts the Duo out of its niche: it replaces two devices if the customer uses cartridges anyway.

The silicone diffuser

The diffuser of food-grade silicone comes off and provides a clean air path. Because it is removable, you can reach everywhere when cleaning — with devices that have a built-in diffuser, that is exactly where the residue collects. Replacements are available individually and belong on the shelf.

Wear and repeat business

The vaporising coils are the wear part; two are included. Depending on use they get swapped after a few weeks. Add to that glasses that break and the diffuser. For the trade that is reliable repeat business, provided the parts are on the shelf when the customer needs them.

What is in the box, and the warranty

Run-out model

The Duo Onyx is no longer being produced. For the trade that means: it is available while stock lasts, and after that no longer. Wear parts remain available because they are shared with the other Zenco devices. Anyone wanting to carry it should build the stock now.

What the Duo cannot do

It does not control in degrees, and it does not cool the vapour over water. Anyone needing both is right with the Flow or with a device that has a degree readout. For the price that is not criticism but a description of the class — and anyone naming it unprompted in conversation sells to the right customers.

Duo or Flow?

The Flow brings an integrated water feature in the glass and cools the vapour that way. The Duo instead brings a second glass, which makes sharing and separating varieties easier. Base, heat levels and 510 thread are the same on both — the decision falls between water cooling and a second glass.

How to use it

1. Fill the glass with material and place it on the base.
2. Switch the device on and choose one of the four heat levels.
3. Draw at once; no heating up is needed.
4. Take off the diffuser and clean it as required.
5. Put the glass in the dishwasher after the session.
