Description

The Pax Four is the brand's everyday vaporiser: 125 grams, a hybrid heating system, a stainless steel oven and four fixed temperature levels between 190 and 220 degrees. It is operated without an app and without menus — a shake shows the battery level and changes the heating level. The 2800 mAh battery carries up to fifty minutes. For the trade it is the Pax device with the best ratio of price, equipment and explanatory effort, because it works without a briefing. In our experience it also sells to customers who know the name Pax and do not want to concern themselves further with technology.

Features

  • Compact herb vaporiser in pocket format at only 125 grams — fits upright in any jacket pocket
  • Hybrid heating system of conduction and convection for even, repeatable results, fast as conduction, clean as convection
  • Four fixed heating levels at 190, 200, 210 and 220 degrees — one to suit every preference, entirely without a menu
  • Heat-up time of around 55 to 70 seconds, after which the device is ready without further ado — no record figure, but reliable
  • 2800 mAh lithium-ion battery for up to fifty minutes of running time in one go, that is several sessions in a row
  • USB-C port, fully charged in about 100 minutes, so full again over the course of an evening
  • Shake control: a shake shows the battery level and changes the heating level — the most practical operation there is on the move
  • Haptic feedback signals readiness without your having to look, even with your hand in your pocket
  • Stainless steel oven, easy to clean with the wire brush supplied and still without a taste of its own after years
  • Flat and raised mouthpieces included, both magnetically held, swapped in a second
  • Standard oven lid, one fitted screen and three replacement screens in the carton — nothing needs buying to start
  • Multi-tool and wire brush included — for filling and for cleaning, everything is there at once
  • Closed air path for uncomplicated maintenance — nothing has to be taken apart for it
  • Available in Onyx and Greenstone, technically identical in both colours — purely a decision about looks

Who is the Pax Four for?

For customers looking for a reliable device for every day who have no appetite for settings. The Four deliberately does less than the Flow: four levels, no app, no learning control. That is precisely its selling point, because there is nothing you could get wrong or forget. In the trade it is the article for customers who ask for a Pax without knowing the model range — it almost always fits. Anyone who buys it rarely comes back with questions, and that lightens the advisory load. For the wholesale trade it is therefore the article with the lowest advisory effort per unit sold in the whole range.

Four levels instead of stepless control

190, 200, 210 and 220 degrees cover the range worked in practice. Lower down the flavour comes first, higher up the quantity; most customers end up at 200 or 210 degrees. There is no degree-precise control, but it is hardly missed in daily use — the difference between 205 and 207 degrees is a number, not an experience. For beginners the fixed choice is more of an advantage, because it allows no wrong settings. Anyone who still wants degree-precise control is right with the Flow; anyone who simply wants to vaporize stays with the Four.

The shake control

A shake shows the battery level, another shake changes the heating level. What sounds like a gimmick at first is the most practical operation there is on the move: you do not have to take the device out of your pocket and do not have to look at it. Together with the haptic feedback the Four can be operated entirely blind. In the sales conversation it pays to demonstrate this once — it is the point at which customers smile. A shake explains the operation faster than any briefing.

The stainless steel oven

Stainless steel takes on no taste of its own, tolerates any cleaning and stays the same over years. The oven is sized so that one load is enough for a session alone or a short round of two. Cleaning is done with the wire brush supplied, most easily while the device is still warm. Over the years the flavour stays constant, which regularly is not the case with coated chambers. Packing the chamber to the brim wastes airflow; filled loosely, the device works more evenly.

Heat-up and running time

55 to 70 seconds to the set temperature is no record — the Four is not a device for the quick draw in between. In return the 2800 mAh battery carries up to fifty minutes in one go, which for most customers means several sessions. Charging happens over USB-C in about 100 minutes. Anyone using the Four daily charges it every other evening without thinking about it. Anyone travelling a lot should nevertheless carry a power bank, because the battery cannot be swapped.

Two mouthpieces

A flat and a raised mouthpiece are included. The flat one sits flush and is more discreet, the raised one gives the vapour a longer path and thereby a cooler draw. Both are magnetically held and swap in a second. Replacements are available individually and belong on the shelf as wear parts, because mouthpieces are the first thing to wear on a device that gets passed around. For the trade mouthpieces are therefore the most reliable repeat purchase for this device.

What is in the box

The carton contains the device, both mouthpieces, the standard oven lid, an already fitted screen, three replacement screens, a multi-tool, a wire brush and the USB-C cable. The customer is thereby fully equipped and needs to buy nothing to start. For the trade that means short consultations and few follow-up questions; the customer comes back later for screens and mouthpieces. In our experience this particular group orders screens in twos straight away when you point them out.

Cleaning and wear

The closed air path makes maintenance uncomplicated: brush out the oven, change the screen, rinse the mouthpiece. Stubborn residue dissolves in isopropyl alcohol. Wear occurs on screens and mouthpieces, both available individually. Clean every few weeks and draw resistance and flavour stay constant — neglected devices come back as supposed defects when only the screen is clogged. A cleaning kit is worth adding to every device sold and costs almost nothing at wholesale.

Pax as a brand

Pax is the brand that made portable vaporisers known in the mass market, and the spare parts situation is correspondingly good. Screens, mouthpieces and oven lids are available for years and partly interchangeable between the models. For the trade that means predictable stock keeping and a customer who can still be supplied in three years. The brand also sells on its name, which lowers the advisory effort. Carry the brand and you therefore keep selling to the same customers for years instead of starting the consultation over each time.

Four, Flow or Mini 2?

The Four is the solid everyday vaporiser with the best balance of price and equipment. The Flow has the considerably higher airflow, the learning control and the bong mode. The Mini 2 is smaller, ready faster and more discreet, but has the shorter sessions. Anyone simply looking for something that works takes the Four; anyone wanting the best, the Flow. All three share part of the wear parts. The Four sits in the middle on price, which makes it the safe suggestion when a customer cannot decide.

How to use it

  1. Remove the oven lid and fill the chamber loosely with finely ground material.
  2. Fit a mouthpiece, flat or raised to taste.
  3. Switch the device on and select the heating level by shaking.
  4. Let it heat for about a minute until the vibration signals.
  5. Brush the oven out with the wire brush after the session.
