The PLENTY is the most idiosyncratic vaporiser from Storz & Bickel: a desktop device shaped like a power drill, with a stainless steel cooling coil as mouthpiece and a chamber considerably larger than anything portable. It runs on mains power, holds the temperature for as long as you like and delivers an airflow of up to thirty litres per minute — with virtually no draw resistance.

Who is the PLENTY for?

For customers who vaporise at home, want a large load at once and have no interest in batteries. The PLENTY is not a device for the display cabinet — it looks like a tool and is built like one. That is precisely its appeal for a particular group of customers: no electronics to go out of adjustment, no battery that fades after three years, and in return a volume of vapour portable devices cannot deliver. In retail it is the device for the customer who knows what they want.

The cooling coil as mouthpiece

The most striking component is the sprung stainless steel cooling coil that serves as the mouthpiece. The vapour travels a long path inside it and gives up heat to the metal before reaching the lip. The result is noticeably cooler vapour than with short mouthpieces, and that holds even at the upper temperature settings. The coil can be taken off, dismantled and cleaned completely — it is at the same time the part that makes cleaning easiest.

Large stainless steel chamber

The chamber holds 3.4 cubic centimetres and thus offers a considerably larger surface than the chambers of portable devices. One filling is enough for a group, and anyone vaporising alone works through a load over several sittings, because the material does not keep heating in between. The chamber is made of stainless steel and takes dosing capsules, which simplifies cleaning once more.

Seven settings on the dial

The temperature is chosen with a dial in seven steps between 130 °C and 202 °C. That is coarser than a degree-precise setting but in practice covers the entire sensible range for dry herbs. One advantage of the steps: the customer finds their setting again without having to remember a number — on a device used daily that counts for more than the last decimal place.

Airflow up to thirty litres per minute

The PLENTY draws with practically no resistance. Up to thirty litres per minute flow through the chamber, the highest figure in the whole range. Anyone used to portable devices who has had to suck against a tight draw notices the difference on the first draw. For older customers and for everyone who needs an easy draw, that is often the decisive argument.

Hybrid heating system with double helix

The heating block works with a double helix and combines convection with a conduction share via the chamber wall. That ensures the large load is heated through evenly and does not vaporise only at the surface. The heat-up time is at most four and a half minutes; after that the device holds the temperature for as long as it stays switched on — a point only mains devices offer.

Cleaning and wear parts

What needs cleaning is the cooling coil, the chamber and the screens. The coil is unscrewed, dismantled and soaked in isopropyl alcohol; the chamber is knocked out and brushed. Because there is no plastic in the vapour path, all parts can be treated without care. Screens and seals are wear parts and available separately — for retailers a small but regular repeat business.

No battery — advantage and disadvantage

The PLENTY has no battery and has to stay at the socket. That rules out mobile use but also removes the most common failure risk: no battery fading after years, no charge cycles, no runtime problems. For advice that is a clear statement — anyone wanting to vaporise on the move needs a second device; anyone staying at home gets a device that practically does not age.

PLENTY, VOLCANO or a portable device?

The VOLCANO works with balloon and fan and serves a group; the PLENTY is drawn from directly and is more a single-user device with a large chamber. On price the PLENTY sits considerably below both Volcano models. Against portable devices it delivers more vapour and an easier draw, but is tied to one place. Many customers end up with both: a portable device for the road and the PLENTY for home.

Why the shape is no accident

The pistol shape looks odd at first but has a reason: it shifts the weight into the hand and makes the device stand firm, while the cooling coil projects upwards and does not knock against anything. You hold the PLENTY like a tool, not like a lighter. Anyone who has used it once understands the shape; in the shop it is therefore worth putting it into the customer's hand rather than only showing it.

How to use it

1. Fill the chamber loosely with ground herbs or insert a dosing capsule.
2. Insert the chamber, switch the device on and select the setting on the dial.
3. Let it heat for up to four and a half minutes until the indicator lamp goes out.
4. Draw slowly and evenly on the cooling coil — the draw resistance is low.
5. After use empty the chamber and take off and clean the cooling coil.
