History
In 2005, Adam Bowen and James Monsees met while studying product design as graduate students at Stanford University and developed their first product: Ploom, which they officially launched in 2007. In August 2016, Tyler Goldman joined Monsees and Bowen and became CEO of Pax. In 2011, a Japanese corporate group invested 10 million dollars in the company. Ploom used this money to create the Pax, a vaporizer for herbs.
Products
The first vaporizer the company brought to market was the Pax by Ploom. As Pax Labs, Inc., the company then introduced the Pax 2. In November 2016, the Pax 3 was released, offering compatibility with both extracts and plant material and featuring new tools and accessories as well as a companion smartphone app. In 2023, the Pax Mini and the Pax Plus were introduced.
