Grateful Dead X Kompact Gravity Infuser
Suitable only for waxes and herbs
The Kompact is the Gravity Infuser for the table: the same principle, around a third smaller. Instead of the good forty centimetres of the full-size unit it measures just under thirty, and the globes hold about two thirds. Everything else stays the same — 360-degree rotation, borosilicate glass, anodised aluminium and a complete set in the box. For the trade it is therefore the device that sells the brand to customers who wave the big Infuser away because of its size. It stands on any table and can still be demonstrated exactly like the original.

- Glass globes with about two thirds of the volume — shorter draws, same principle
- Aircraft-grade borosilicate glass and anodised aluminium — built for continuous use
- Two glass inserts and two downstems included, both available individually
- Glass bowl and hookah bowl for different materials — charcoal or direct operation
- Charcoal tray, hookah hose with adapter and hookah wand included, nothing needs buying separately
- Male bowl adapter in the set — any vaporiser with a 14 mm joint can be connected
- Mouthpiece adjustable by 45 degrees, contactless draws, hygienic even when passed around
- Cleaning kit and travel case in the box — both belong with this device
- Silicone hose 90 centimetres long, long enough for the table
- Multilingual instruction manual — usable for resale too
- Ten-year warranty, handled directly by the manufacturer
- Also available as a Grateful Dead edition, technically identical to the base version
Who is the Kompact for?
For customers who want the principle but do not have the space. The full-size device is a piece of furniture; the Kompact fits on an ordinary living-room table and travels in the case that comes with it. In the trade it is the article for everyone who stands in front of the big Infuser and finds it too bulky. On top of that comes the price, which is well below that of the large unit and opens up the entry point in budget terms too. In our experience the Kompact is the article through which most customers come to Stündenglass in the first place.
What is smaller and what is not
The frame and the globes have been scaled down, not the principle. The rotation runs identically, the smoke is cooled along the same path and the handling is the same. Less volume means shorter draws, but not worse ones. In practice shorter draws mean turning the device once more often — which on a device whose entire operation consists of turning bothers nobody. Anyone who wants to serve a whole group is still better off with the full-size unit.
The water cycle
Two globes one above the other on a rotating mount: water runs from the upper into the lower and pushes air through the chamber as it goes. The draw is generated inside the device, not in your mouth. The smoke stands in the upper globe until it is taken. That is the point at which the principle differs from every classic water pipe: the smoke waits instead of burning away. For the sales conversation, that is exactly the sentence that sticks.
The complete set
The box contains the frame, two glass inserts, two downstems, mouthpiece, glass bowl, hookah bowl, charcoal tray, hose with adapter, hookah wand, bowl adapter, cleaning kit, travel case and manual. Nothing is missing. For selling that means the customer goes home with a complete set and does not have to order anything afterwards. They come back for wear parts instead, and they do so for years.
Contactless draws
The mouthpiece adjusts by 45 degrees so that the smoke can be taken without touching the device. In a group that is the practical difference; in the shop, the hygienic one. Replacement mouthpieces are available individually and therefore belong on the shelf. Anyone who regularly uses the device in company should keep several on hand anyway.
Connecting a vaporiser
The bowl adapter takes any vaporiser with a 14 mm male joint. That turns the Kompact into a cooling stage for a device the customer already owns. It also makes the Kompact appeal to customers who were not looking for a hookah at all, but for a cooling stage for their vaporiser. A 14 mm adapter costs little and opens up this argument.
Travel case and cleaning kit
Both are included, which on this device is not an afterthought: the Kompact is small enough to be carried around, and glass wants protecting before transport. The cleaning kit keeps the globes clear. Anyone who actually takes the device with them should dry the globes before transport — otherwise there is water in the case on unpacking. That is a hint worth passing on at the point of sale.
Ten-year warranty
Stündenglass gives ten years of warranty on the Kompact, handled directly by the manufacturer. For a device in this price bracket that is unusual, and in the sales conversation it is an argument that sticks. In practice ten years mean the customer keeps the device and buys wear parts instead. For the trade that is not a loss but the basis of the repeat business.
The Grateful Dead edition
Alongside black there is an edition with a Grateful Dead motif. Technically identical, it differs in glass and finish and is limited in quantity. For wholesale it is also seasonal stock: editions appear in limited numbers and cannot be reordered afterwards. Anyone who wants to carry them should buy early.
Kompact or the full-size unit?
The Kompact is smaller, cheaper, portable and has the longer warranty. The full-size unit delivers longer draws and more presence in the room. Anyone with the space and the budget takes the big one; anyone limited on both loses nothing of the principle with the Kompact. The two are priced far apart, so the decision usually comes down to budget and floor space. If in doubt, take the Kompact — the principle is the same, and upgrading later is always an option.
How to use it
- Fill the lower glass globe with water up to the mark.
- Fit the bowl and load it, or connect a 14 mm vaporiser.
- Light the material or add the charcoal.
- Slowly turn the device through 180 degrees until the upper globe is full.
- Align the mouthpiece and take the smoke.
