Dry Herb Module

The Modül is Stündenglass's answer to the question of what happens when you give the Gravity Infuser a heat source of its own. Instead of charcoal or a lighter, an electric quartz tank sits on the device, controlled through a colour display and a one-hand dial. Without a Gravity Infuser or Kompact it is unusable — it is an attachment, not a stand-alone vaporiser. For the trade it is therefore not an entry-level item but a repeat purchase for a device the customer already owns, and one that lifts the receipt considerably.

Who is the Modül for?

For customers who already own a Gravity Infuser and want to run it without charcoal. The Modül replaces the bowl with an electric heat source and turns the water pipe into a vaporiser. Anyone who does not yet have a base device can do nothing with it. That should be said early in the sales conversation, otherwise a Modül goes over the counter that the customer cannot connect to anything at home. Anyone without a base device needs the Modül Dok Deluxe Travel Set.

The quartz tank

Heating happens through a tank made of quartz. Quartz adds no taste of its own and tolerates the temperature swings that occur when switching between two loads. The result is a clearer flavour profile than with charcoal. For customers who have run the Infuser on charcoal until now, the difference in taste is the actual reason to buy. Charcoal masks; quartz does not.

Magnetic tank detection

The tank is held magnetically and detected automatically by the device. You pull one out, put another in and carry on — no menu, no switching. Prepare three tanks and you can work through a whole group without refilling in between. For the trade the spare tank is therefore the most obvious add-on sale there is — hardly any customer stops at one. Three tanks in the case is the usual set-up.

Display and one-hand dial

The 2.4-inch colour display shows every value, and the dial is operated with one hand. The draw time is freely adjustable, which on a device that generates the draw itself has more effect than a choice of temperature. Anyone who prefers the lower end sets a short draw time and turns more often; anyone who wants a full globe extends it. Either is changed in seconds.

Battery and charging time

6000 mAh is enough for up to fifty sessions. Charging happens over USB-C in about two hours, and pass-through allows operation on the cable. For a device that stands on the table anyway, that is the practically most important point. Fifty sessions mean several days in everyday use before the cable is needed. Anyone who keeps the Modül on the table simply leaves it plugged in.

Dry material and concentrates

The tank supplied is designed for dry material. A quartz tank for concentrates is available separately and is fitted in exactly the same way. One device therefore covers both materials. The only thing to note is that concentrates clog the tank faster and it needs cleaning more often. Both tanks are available individually and should be on the shelf.

The aluminium housing

The housing is made of anodised aluminium and is designed for daily use. It is light enough to be fitted with one hand and sturdy enough to survive handling at the table. The weight is deliberately kept low because the Modül travels with the Infuser as it turns. A heavy attachment would disturb the whole principle.

The travel case

A case with room for three tanks is included. That is not an afterthought: anyone taking the Modül along takes the prepared tanks with them, and quartz wants protecting. Take three prepared tanks and you can serve a group without refilling on the way. That is exactly what the case is for.

Wear and spare parts

Wear occurs on the O-rings of the chamber sleeve and on the tank itself. Both are available individually. For the trade the spare tank is the obvious repeat purchase, because customers keep several on hand anyway. A set of O-rings costs almost nothing at wholesale and covers the second most frequent repeat purchase. Stocking both means you do not lose the customer to mail order after the first part wears out.

Modül or the Modül Dok set?

The Modül on its own assumes an existing Gravity Infuser. The Modül Dok Deluxe Travel Set additionally brings the Dok — a handheld with its own glass and percolator, with which the Modül also works without an Infuser. Anyone without a base device needs the set. The set is priced considerably higher but contains a complete device in return. Anyone who already owns the Infuser pays for the Dok twice over and should stay with the Modül alone.

How to use it

1. Fill the quartz tank with finely ground material and insert it.
2. Fit the Modül onto the Gravity Infuser or Kompact.
3. Switch the device on and select the draw time on the dial.
4. Turn the Infuser — the Modül heats and the vapour collects in the globe.
5. After the session, take the tank out and empty it while still warm.
