The Arizer Solo II MAX is the endurance device of the range: two replaceable 18650 cells, a vapour path entirely of glass and a display that rotates its readout when the device is held upside down. As with all Arizer portables the herbs sit in a glass stem, not in a metal chamber.

Who is the Solo II MAX for?
For customers who put runtime above everything, and for continuous commercial use. At 213 grams and 114 × 45 × 35 mm the MAX is no shirt-pocket companion but a stationary device for desk, workshop or shop counter. Anyone running many sessions across the day, or demonstrating the device to several people, gets nowhere near as far with a single-cell model from the range. In the sales conversation it is the argument against devices that are flat after forty minutes.
Two cells instead of one
The decisive difference from every other Arizer portable is the pair of 18650 batteries. Depending on temperature and draw behaviour that gives 90 to 180 minutes of vaporizing — two to three times a single-cell device. Both cells are replaceable: carry two charged spares and you are effectively independent of a socket. For dealers that is also a maintenance argument, because after years the cell gets replaced rather than the device.
The glass stem is the chamber
You fill a 110 mm glass stem, which then goes into the heater well. The vapour therefore touches nothing but glass the whole way — no metal, no plastic, no seal. To change the load you pull the stem out instead of working inside a hot chamber. The long stem has a second effect: the vapour travels further and arrives noticeably cooler at the lip than with short mouthpieces.
Rapid-heating ceramic
The reworked ceramic heater brings the MAX to its top temperature in under forty seconds, and to mid settings around two hundred degrees in about thirty. For a device this size that is brisk, and it makes the difference between a short preheat and waiting around. The temperature range runs from 50 °C to 220 °C and is set by the degree, so low flavour settings can be hit cleanly too.
Dark mode and rotating readout
The LED display can be dimmed and blacked out completely — dark mode is meant for evening use or wherever the glow is a nuisance. More useful day to day is the second quirk: hold the device upside down, which is more comfortable when drawing from the stem, and the readout rotates automatically and stays legible. The session timer is freely adjustable, after which the device switches off.
Water pipe adapter in the box
A 14 mm adapter is included, so the MAX connects to a standard bubbler without buying anything. With most competitors that is an extra sold separately. For retail it is a clean selling point: the customer takes the device home and can use it with their existing bong the same evening, without a second trip.
Charging over USB-C
Charging runs over USB-C — compared with the Solo II and its micro-USB, the most noticeable everyday improvement, because the same cable as the phone fits. Pass-through is supported: the MAX can be used on the cable, which makes it usable as a demo unit in the shop, where it may hang on the mains all day.
Cleaning and wear parts
Because the vapour path is glass, care comes down to two moves: tap the stem out and soak it in isopropyl alcohol when needed, sweep the heater well with the brush. The stainless steel screens in the stem are wear parts and can be bought individually. Clean regularly and draw resistance stays constant — gummed-up screens are the most common cause of complaints that are not faults.
Difference from the Solo II and the Solo III
Compared with the Solo II, the MAX brings USB-C instead of micro-USB, dark mode, the rotating readout, the water pipe adapter in the box and the reworked ceramic heater. Compared with the Solo III it lacks on-demand mode and the colour display, but has the longer runtime and the replaceable cells. In short: MAX for endurance, III for quick single draws.
How to use it
- Fill the glass stem loosely with ground herbs, do not pack it.
- Place the stem in the heater well and switch the device on.
- Select the temperature by the degree and set the session timer.
- Wait for it to heat up, then draw slowly and evenly.
- Remove the stem, tap it out and clean the heater well with the brush.
