The V4 Pro is the convection vaporiser from XMax: the material is heated only by hot air, not by the chamber wall. That costs a few seconds more preparation and delivers in return an aroma conduction devices do not reach. Add two operating modes, degree-precise control, a colour display and a replaceable battery — in a price class where convection normally does not appear. The surcharge over the Starry 4 is modest and justified in the first draw, which can be demonstrated across the counter.

Who is the V4 Pro for?

For customers who have already owned a conduction vaporiser and are looking for the difference in flavour. Anyone coming from a Starry 4 or a comparable device notices on the first draw that something else is happening here: less cloud, more aroma. In retail the V4 Pro is therefore not an entry device but the device for the second purchase — and for everyone who needs a water pipe connection without spending three hundred euros on it. For advice that means: anyone asking for thick clouds is in the wrong place; anyone asking for flavour is exactly right.

Pure convection

With pure convection the heating element never touches the material. Drawn-in air is heated and passes through the load, which is therefore only warmed while you draw. That has two consequences: the flavour is preserved to the last draw because nothing keeps cooking between draws, and the material does not scorch even at high temperature. The price is a slightly thinner first draw — anyone who wants the dense cloud is better served by conduction. A further advantage shows only after weeks: the chamber stays clean because nothing bakes onto hot metal.

Session and on-demand mode

In session mode the V4 Pro holds the temperature for a fixed period, as most devices do. In on-demand mode it heats only while the button is held — every draw is produced individually and nothing is lost if the device is put down in between. Anyone vaporising sparingly gets considerably more draws out of a load. Both modes can be switched on the device, without a menu and without an app. In practice most customers run session in the evening at home and on-demand when out.

Eleven seconds heat-up

From switch-on to target temperature takes around eleven seconds. No other convection device in this price class reaches that figure, and it is the real reason on-demand operation is practical at all: only if heating is that short is it worth heating afresh for every draw. In a sale it can be demonstrated by counting along — no further proof is needed. Eleven seconds also means the battery lasts longer, because every second of heating costs charge.

Degree-precise temperature up to 220 degrees

Control works in one-degree steps between 100 and 220 degrees. Because convection treats the material more gently, the usable range sits higher than on conduction devices: what scorches there at 200 degrees stays clean here. Customers who see the vaporiser as a replacement for other forms of consumption mostly work between 190 and 210 degrees; those after flavour stay below 180. As a rule of thumb: below 180 degrees aroma, above 200 effect, in between the everyday range.

Glass mouthpiece with 14 mm adapter

The supplied glass mouthpiece has a 14 millimetre ground joint built in and therefore fits any standard water pipe without further accessories. For a portable vaporiser in this price class that is unusual, because the adapter is normally sold separately. Cooled vapour through water is the point at which a vaporiser becomes an everyday device for many customers — and that argument is already in the box. Anyone without a water filter uses the same mouthpiece normally; the joint does not get in the way.

Adjustable airflow

Draw resistance can be regulated on the device. With convection this has more effect than with conduction, because the volume of air directly determines how much heat reaches the load: a wide-open airpath produces cooler, milder vapour, a throttled one denser and warmer. Anyone running the V4 Pro on a water pipe opens it fully — there the resistance comes from the water anyway. For the first draw it is worth throttling the airpath slightly and opening it afterwards.

Replaceable battery and USB-C

The 18650 cell can be taken out. Anyone often on the move carries a second and swaps instead of charging; anyone keeping the device for years replaces the cell instead of the vaporiser. Charging is over USB-C. For retailers the replaceable battery is a selling point and a spare part at once — both pay into the same account, because a repairable device keeps the customer in the shop. A charged spare cell costs less than a tank of fuel and makes the device independent of the cable.

Cleaning

Because the heating element never touches the material, less sticks in the chamber than on conduction devices — the V4 Pro needs cleaning less often. The screen at the bottom of the chamber is taken out after a few sessions and soaked in isopropyl alcohol, as is the glass mouthpiece. Anyone using dosing capsules goes even longer without cleaning, because the material never touches the chamber wall at all. With dosing capsules the cleaning interval can be stretched many times over — for heavy users the most important add-on.

V4 Pro or Starry 4?

The Starry 4 is the device for dense vapour, immediate operation and the lowest price. The V4 Pro is the device for flavour, economical consumption and connection to a water pipe. Both have a replaceable battery, degree-precise control and adjustable airflow; they differ in heating method and therefore in character. Anyone wanting both buys the Starry 4 and upgrades later. A note for the sale: both devices share part of their accessories, such as capsules and cells.

How to use it

1. Open the chamber and pack it loosely with finely ground material, or insert a dosing capsule.
2. Switch the device on, choose the mode and set the temperature.
3. Let it heat for around eleven seconds until the device vibrates.
4. Draw slowly and evenly; in on-demand mode hold the button while drawing.
5. After the session empty the chamber and clean the screen if needed.
