The G3

The G3 is vaporising in the simplest form imaginable: two parts, a unibody of borosilicate glass and a captive cap. No electronics, no battery, no metal in the vapour path — only glass, heat from outside and the click of the cap. With a chamber of 0.05 g it is built for microdosing from the outset and is therefore the most economical device in the whole range. For retailers it is the cheapest way to demonstrate the click to a customer once.

Who is the G3 for?

For customers to whom flavour is everything and nothing else matters. Glass gives off no aroma of its own, and because there is not a single metal part in the G3's vapour path, you taste only the material. The price is the lowest in the range, the chamber the smallest. In retail the G3 is two things: the cheap entry device for the curious customer and the second device for the connoisseur who deliberately wants to vaporise little but cleanly at home. That double role makes it the highest-volume item on the DynaVap shelf.

Two parts, no more

The G3 consists of a unibody — tip and midsection are a single piece of glass — and the cap. There is no screw joint, no O-ring, no condenser, nothing that could come loose or wear out. Anyone who has ever cleaned a dismantlable DynaVap knows that is exactly where the effort lies; here it disappears entirely. The price is that nothing about the draw can be adjusted. Whoever wants maximum simplicity gets it here in its purest form.

The glass screen

A screen of glass is worked into the unibody, preventing material from reaching the mouth with the draw. On a device without a metal screen that is the only possible solution, and it works. Because the screen is part of the unibody it cannot shift, cannot be lost and never needs replacing — unlike the metal screens of the other models, which are wear parts. That removes from the G3 the very part most frequently repurchased on every other model.

The click as a temperature indicator

Inside the cap sits a bi-metal that deforms on reaching vaporisation temperature and audibly clicks. Heat, wait for the click, take the flame away, draw. A second click as it cools shows when to reheat. On the G3 the three-winged seat matters: it ensures the cap always sits in the same position and that the heat therefore enters the glass reproducibly. If the cap sits askew, the glass heats on one side and the draw becomes uneven.

Why no induction heater

Induction heaters warm metal through a magnetic field. Glass does not react to it, and that is why the G3 only works with a flame. That should be stated clearly in the sale, because customers who already own a heater would otherwise be disappointed. Conversely: anyone already working with a jet lighter loses nothing — and a lighter costs a fraction of an induction heater, so one belongs in every order with a G3.

Microdosing with 0.05 grams

The chamber holds half a tenth of a gram — that is a pinch, not a load. The G3 is therefore not a device for long sessions but for two or three deliberate draws. For customers who want to cut consumption that is exactly right; for customers who want to serve a group, entirely unsuitable. That distinction should come early in the advice, otherwise the device ends up in a drawer.

Anti-roll and handling

A round glass tube that rolls off the table is a device that is broken in two weeks. The G3 therefore has an anti-roll geometry that prevents exactly that. Still, glass remains glass: it is the only DynaVap model you can actually break, and the customer should be told. Anyone wanting to carry it in a trouser pocket needs a suitable case — an obvious add-on sale that costs a few euros and prevents the only damage this device can take.

Cleaning

The device goes into isopropyl alcohol in its entirety; there is no seal to consider and no coating that could be attacked. After the bath rinse briefly and let it dry. Because you can see on the glass at once when it is time, the G3 is in practice cleaned more often than the metal models — and therefore tastes the cleanest in the long run. Because glass is transparent, you see the need for cleaning instead of tasting it.

What the low price means

The G3 is the cheapest device of the brand, and that with no compromise on the principle: the same cap, the same click, the same manufacture in Wisconsin. The saving is in material and part count, not in quality. For retailers it is therefore the article with which DynaVap can be explained at all — anyone who has heard the click once for little money comes back for a titanium model.

G3, B2 or M7?

The G3 is the all-glass device for flavour and microdosing, without any adjustment and without induction compatibility. The B2 is the stainless steel entry with a larger chamber, anti-roll and a 10 mm connection as standard. The M7 is the classic in pen format with a modular build and Adjust-a-Bowl. Anyone seeking the purest flavour takes the G3; anyone wanting flexibility takes one of the metal models. All three use the same cap and the same click principle.

How to use it

1. Remove the cap and pack the small glass chamber loosely with finely ground material.
2. Set the cap on the three-winged seat so that it sits straight.
3. Heat the cap evenly with a jet-flame lighter, rotating the device as you go.
4. At the click take the flame away, wait briefly and draw slowly.
5. After the second click reheat, or empty the chamber while it is still warm.
