The B2

The B2 is the way into the world of VapCaps: around ninety millimetres long, fourteen and a half grams, with no battery and no electronics. Its body is round and carries an anti-roll edge, so it can be rotated evenly while heating and will not roll off the table afterwards. The chamber, at 0.075 g, is larger than on the small models, and the 10 mm mouthpiece fits any water pipe as standard. That makes it the device with which the brand can be explained without the customer risking much money.

Who is the B2 for?

For customers who have never held a VapCap. The B2 is deliberately built as an entry device: round, grippy, with a larger chamber and a mouthpiece that fits a water pipe without accessories. That removes two hurdles of the format at once — the tiny load and the hot draw. In retail it is the device you give the customer who has heard of DynaVap and wants to know whether it is for them, without spending much. Experience shows a good share of those buyers come back within a year for a titanium model.

The anti-roll edge and why it counts

A round metal tube rolls off the table, and with a DynaVap it is lying around almost all the time because it has to cool between draws. The B2 therefore has a flattened edge that prevents exactly that. At the same time the body stays round enough to be turned evenly between the fingers while heating — and that is what matters, so the cap does not get hot on one side only. It is a detail you only come to value after the first week; whoever has rolled it off a table once understands it immediately.

The click and the temperature range

The cap clicks between 280 and 430 degrees Fahrenheit, that is around 138 to 221 degrees Celsius — the range in which material vaporises rather than burns. You heat, hear the click, take the heat source away and draw; a second click as it cools shows when to reheat. Anyone wanting to vaporise lower reaches for the low-temp cap, which triggers at around 190 to 200 degrees and is available separately. It is the cheapest way to change the character of the device completely.

Larger chamber, more flavour

At 0.075 g the B2 holds noticeably more than the small models. That sounds like little but makes the difference between two and four proper draws from one load. For beginners that matters, because the tiny chambers of the classic VapCaps are often felt as a drawback before the technique is understood. Anyone wanting less simply fills less — the headroom upwards is greater than on the M7. For beginners it is usually better to fill the chamber fully at first and reduce later.

Water pipe without an adapter

The conical 10 mm mouthpiece fits standard joints as it comes. For an entry device that is unusual, because the adapter normally has to be bought separately. Customers who already have a water filter at home thereby get the far more pleasant draw at no extra cost — and on a device with a short airpath that is the most effective lever there is. Adapters for 14 mm are in the range; one costs a few euros and belongs in every order with a B2.

Stainless steel and silicone

The body is made of medical-grade stainless steel, the sealing and grip elements of high-temperature silicone. That combination makes the device robust and easy to dismantle at the same time: nothing is glued, nothing screws itself tight, everything comes apart by hand. There is no plastic in the vapour path that could taste along when hot — a point at which cheap copies give themselves away immediately. Silicone is also the reason the B2 comes apart without tools.

The Stealth version

The Stealth version replaces the stainless steel tip with a DuraDyn-coated titanium tip and brings an evenly dark, scratch-resistant surface. Titanium takes up heat faster, the heat cycle gets shorter, and the coating keeps the device presentable even after months in a trouser pocket. It ships in the Stealth tin case with a premium silicone insert. For retailers those are two articles with the same principle and different customers; side by side on the shelf both sell better than either alone.

Economy as an argument

DynaVap states that a VapCap saves fifty to seventy per cent of material against smoking. The reason is simple: only what is currently needed gets heated, and nothing smoulders away between draws. For advice that is the figure that sticks — above all with customers who set the purchase price against ongoing consumption. After a few weeks the device has paid for itself that way; anyone who does that sum once sells the device practically by themselves.

Cleaning

The B2 dismantles completely; metal parts go into isopropyl alcohol, silicone parts are rinsed out. Because the chamber is heated directly, residue builds up faster than on convection devices — wiping it out with a cotton swab after every second or third load keeps the draw easy. Spare O-rings and caps are the only wear parts and cost a few euros. We recommend stocking caps and O-rings as a set as a matter of course.

B2, M7 or VonG i?

The B2 is the entry: larger chamber, anti-roll, 10 mm mouthpiece as standard, lowest price. The M7 is smaller and more discreet but has the smaller chamber and no connection as standard. The VonG i is the titanium variant with a fully dismantlable build, rotating airflow control and connections for 10 and 14 mm. Anyone wanting to try takes the B2; anyone who knows they will stick with it takes the VonG straight away. All three use the same cap.

How to use it

1. Remove the cap and pack the chamber loosely with finely ground material.
2. Put the cap on and hold the device so it can be rotated between the fingers.
3. Heat the cap evenly with a lighter or induction heater.
4. At the click take the heat source away, wait briefly and draw slowly.
5. After the second click reheat, or empty the chamber while it is still warm.
