Description

The VonG i is the way into DynaVap's titanium models and at the same time the device that dismantles furthest — every single part comes off without tools. Titanium takes up heat faster than stainless steel and gives it off faster, so the heat cycle is shorter. Add a rotating mouthpiece that regulates airflow steplessly and a tapered connection for 10 and 14 millimetres. It is therefore the device on which the step from steel to titanium first really pays off.

Features

  • Body entirely of titanium — takes up heat faster and gives it off faster, short heat cycle and low weight
  • Fully dismantlable without tools, every part separately cleanable and available as a spare, down to the O-rings
  • Gentle rotation of the mouthpiece regulates the airflow steplessly, from loose to tight to suit the draw
  • Adjust-a-Bowl on the tip shrinks the dosing chamber without the load burning at the edge
  • Tapered mouthpiece fits 10 mm and 14 mm adapters and bubblers, and thus practically any water filter
  • Captive Cap fitted at the factory, cannot be lost while heating and still sits tight after years
  • Bi-metal cap with audible click as the temperature indicator, entirely without electronics; a second click means reheat
  • No battery, no charging time — heated with a lighter or an induction heater in five to eight seconds
  • Fits DynaStash and SlimStash in standard size, so into the accessories already in the range
  • Modular build, combinable with all common DynaVap components — across model boundaries too
  • No plastic in the vapour path that could taste along — titanium stays flavour-neutral for years
  • Made in Wisconsin, practically indestructible — you notice the tolerances on assembly
  • All metal parts take a bath in isopropyl alcohol without restriction, titanium without any care
  • The O-rings are the only real wear part, cost a few cents and should be kept as a set

Who is the VonG i for?

For customers who already know they are staying with the VapCap principle and now want to upgrade the material. Titanium is lighter, conducts heat faster and can be heated any number of times without anything warping. In retail the VonG i is the device for the second purchase: anyone who started with a B2 or M7 and stuck with it almost always ends up here. Anyone still unsure should begin with the stainless steel model — the difference lies in the detail, not in the principle. For retailers that means the VonG i sells on prior ownership, not on the spec sheet.

Titanium instead of stainless steel

Titanium takes up heat faster and gives it back to the material just as quickly. In practice that means: heat for less time, draw sooner, cool down sooner. At the same time titanium is considerably lighter, which you notice on a device you constantly turn between your fingers. The material is also completely flavour-neutral and stays that way for years — unlike coated parts whose surface eventually wears through. Anyone often on the move notices the weight difference after the first day in a jacket pocket.

Fully dismantlable

Cap, tip, midsection, condenser, mouthpiece and O-rings separate without tools. That sounds trivial but it is the reason a DynaVap still tastes clean after years: you can reach every point of the airpath. For retailers it also means every single part is a spare article — a broken mouthpiece does not make a new device necessary but generates a repurchase of a few euros.

The click as a temperature indicator

Inside the cap sits a bi-metal that deforms on reaching vaporisation temperature and audibly clicks. Heat, wait for the click, remove the heat source, draw — there is no more operation than that. A second click as it cools shows when to reheat. The cap is a wear part and should be replaced after one or two years, because the bi-metal reacts more sluggishly over time. Spare caps are in single figures and therefore belong on the shelf as a matter of course.

Airflow via the rotating mouthpiece

The mouthpiece rotates and thereby regulates steplessly how much air flows through the chamber. Wide open the VonG draws easily and delivers cooler, milder vapour; throttled the draw becomes tighter and the vapour denser. Because the regulation is stepless and does not jump between detents, every customer finds their own setting. In the sale it is enough to point it out once and let them try the rest — half a turn is enough for the customer to hear the difference.

Adjust-a-Bowl and microdosing

Using the Adjust-a-Bowl function the tip turns inside the midsection and thereby shrinks the chamber. For customers who deliberately vaporise little that is the most important function on the whole device: a half-filled chamber burns at the edge, a shrunk one does not. Anyone adjusting the chamber regularly should grind finely — at these volumes a grinder is not an accessory but part of the system, and should be ordered along with the device.

Connecting to water pipe and bubbler

The tapered mouthpiece fits 10 mm and 14 mm adapters and thus practically every bubbler. On a device with a short airpath that is the most effective lever for more pleasant vapour, and it costs almost nothing. Customers who already have a water filter at home should always be asked about it; a matching adapter belongs in every order with a VonG. Experience shows the adapter is the article customers most often forget and then reorder.

Heating with flame or induction

A jet-flame lighter is recommended, passed evenly over the cap while the device is rotated. An ordinary lighter works too but leaves soot. Anyone vaporising daily reaches for the induction heater: put the device in, after five to eight seconds it clicks, without flame and without soot. For retailers the induction heater is the most important add-on sale, because it turns a hobbyist's device into an everyday one. Without it the VonG stays a device for home.

Cleaning and wear

All metal parts go into isopropyl alcohol and are rinsed afterwards — titanium takes that without any restriction. Because the chamber is heated directly, residue builds up faster than on convection devices; wiping it out with a cotton swab after every second or third load keeps the draw easy. The wear parts are the O-rings and the cap, both available separately for a few euros. A set of O-rings costs almost nothing to buy in and covers the most frequent repurchase.

VonG i, VonG X or M7 XL?

The VonG i is the slim titanium model with a rotating mouthpiece and complete dismantlability. The VonG X has the larger stainless steel tip with 0.1 g, the two-tone DuraDyn surface and both connection sizes as standard — it is the flagship of the line. The M7 XL is the long stainless steel classic with an adjustable condenser. All three use the same cap; the choice comes down to material, chamber size and connection, and the prices sit so close that use decides rather than budget.

How to use it

  1. Remove the cap and pack the chamber loosely with finely ground material.
  2. If needed, turn the tip to shrink the chamber for a smaller load.
  3. Put the cap on and heat evenly, rotating the device between your fingers.
  4. At the click take the heat source away, turn the mouthpiece to the draw you want and draw slowly.
  5. After the second click reheat, or empty the chamber while it is still warm.
